Well …..! What can I say?
First and foremost, I hope that all of you and your loved ones are well and have managed to navigate these strange waters with some degree of sanity and hope for a return to better times.
To our customers that we have seen recently, many thanks for your support – you’ll never know how much it’s meant to us to see you, whether it’s been for a “barbeque perfect” top, a “garden – get-together” dress, a posh jogger or just a friendly catch up.
To those of you that we haven’t seen, we send you lots of love – we know that many of you have been shielding for yourself and for the benefit of members of your family. We also know that we have all had to re-evaluate our priorities over the last few months and that new clothes; casual, smart or Occasionwear, have not been at the top of everyone’s agenda! And on that note we send out thoughts to all of our customers that have had to cancel or rearrange special celebrations, Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays.
As many of you know, we closed our lovely shop early this year to complete a full renovation and refurbishment, opening tentatively mid March with a view to inviting you all to a fabulous reopening in April. The rest, as they say is history!
Whilst the timing could be described as challenging – we are truly delighted with the our “new” boutique and we count ourselves lucky that we finished before lockdown.
I decided early on that customers would have a lot to deal with and therefore didn’t need lots of communication from us about clothes that they couldn’t actually buy. It’s always a difficult decision about what to do from a marketing perspective but I felt you all had a lot on your plate, I was being bombarded with emails and Facebook videos from all angles and didn’t want Shelley K to add to the background noise. I took the gamble that you would know that we were thinking of you all, that you wouldn’t forget about us and you would know that we would be here when the time was right for you.
So, we opened quietly on June 15th, Covid Secure processes in place, by appointment, so that we could test the waters, focusing on the safety of our customers and our staff. The feedback has been so positive, we are delighted that you have felt safe and comfortable and that you have enjoyed the experience. I know many of you hadn’t been out at all and we are truly honoured that you chose us as your first (and for many) only destination. We have loved helping you to find the perfect something you were or weren’t looking for – It’s a relief to us and I know to many of you, that regardless of outside influences – you can still “always find something at Shelley K!
What’s happening now!
